Background

One in every 4 deaths occur in the United States due to cancer. In 2012 there was approximately 14.1 million cancer cases diagnosed around the world. Most cases were not cured, due to late diagnostic. With the use of molecular and medical imaging technology doctors around the world will be able to detect and prevent cancer diseases from occurring and spreading.

What technology does MMI use?

The types of molecular imaging systems used are gamma camera, magnetic resonance imaging, molecular ultrasound imaging, optical imaging, positron emission tomography (PET), and single photon emission-computed tomography (SPECT).

For cancer patients molecular and medical imaging can determine the extent or severity of the tumor or disease. This also means that doctors will be able to tell if the disease has spread throughout the body. Molecular and medical imaging is able to help select the most effective therapy, based on biological and molecular properties of the patient and disease.

Molecular imaging helps diagnos a variety of tumor and cancers.

Molecular and medical imaging is an advanced way to see inside the boyd at a molecular and cellular level. This type of imaging enables physicians to identify diseases, monitor their prgoression, and treat medical conditions. It allows physicians to see how the body is functioning and measure it chemical biological process.
